History
The 60's
LeasePlan was formed in 1963 by a Dutch bank and a company that specialised in services provided to drivers. Together they came up with a concept of transparency, combined with the advantages of fleet finance. Dealing with customers in this way brought the concept of Open Calculation (PartnerPlan) to life and it made so much sense to everyone that it became LeasePlan's philosophy. Everyone at LeasePlan has lived by this philosophy for over 45 years. To this day this product remains unique to LeasePlan and is unrivalled by other products in the market.

The Company took its first steps towards internationalisation by creating LeasePlan Belgium in 1972. LeasePlan Germany, France and the UK soon followed.
